COMMUNITY OF FAITHFUL FAMILIES
While the family is the primary sphere of influence, now more than ever children need a strong secondary sphere of influence in order to be counter-cultural, especially as they enter the middle and high school years. Our St. John Bosco families, while each beautiful and unique in their own right, are very united in their central vision of getting their children to Heaven. Having a community of faithful families to support one another on this journey is an essential component of the SJBA experience. Swimming upstream alone can be difficult during these times, so we at St. John Bosco embrace the gifts that community has to offer our families.
Our Catholic faith brings us JOY, and at St. John Bosco Academy, we strive to live that joy to the fullest…together! One of the greatest sources of joy is celebrating the liturgical calendar as a community.
For our younger students, we come together for our All Saints Day Parade, one of our favorite school traditions!
St. Lucy and St. Joseph feast day events are also among our lower school favorites.
We honor the Blessed Mother with cupcake rosaries to celebrate her birthday each September, and in May, our entire student body honors Mother Mary with traditional May crownings.
One of the greatest gifts of St. John Bosco Academy is the culture of our High School. Our high school students are happy, and one can easily sense their joy as you walk the halls of our building! As they enter high school, they are immersed in fun-filled events centered around truth, goodness, and beauty. From dances to pep rallies, to retreats to the March for Life and Senior Mission Trip, the high school fosters leadership and a strong sense of community among our students.
Our St. John Bosco families have many opportunities to gather together during the year to celebrate their faith as a community. Some of our favorite traditions are the Pig Roast for Dads, the Harvest Family Gathering, the Mother’s Retreat and the Father Daughter Dance. Our sporting events and musical productions also provide wonderful opportunities for families to be together!
